Yep, they're in! Yep, it hurts. I just told my little sister that I wanted to pull my teeth out. I'm sure that it was be a much more attractive smile. :D gapped teeth and all.
I've been consuming my carb of choice again to ward off the chewing today, but my teeth are slowly taking their new positions.

What is this a straight jacket?!
Week Two Down - Tray Two IN!
So I've completed the first set of trays!!! I JUST popped in the second set and boy are those suckers tight. My front teeth will be noticeably straighter in comparison to the first set of trays. I've already prepped my teeth with ibuprofen and I have a tube of orajel on the nightstand for instant relief!
Throughout the last week, Invisalign has irritated my cheeks and as of Friday I have a special sore forming on the inside of my top lip. I believe that only occurred because of my teeth finally adjusting to the old trays.
Tray Two feels as if I have put my teeth in a straight jacket! Hopefully, they'll be less psycho by Friday! :)

The Rest of Week One: Finish Strong
Well, apparently it has been a whirlwind of a week. I've adjusted to the limited space in my mouth, but some things still remain the same: I have to have ibuprofen to get through the night, I've eaten my weight in soft carbs this week for the sake of chewing, and ambesol is my new best friend.
I've been dealing with cheek and tongue irritation, but being numb settles that problem. However, I seem to have misplaced the ambesol and need to find it. Other than that...it's time for week 2!

Day Three: My love affair with ibuprofen
So it's Day Three and I gave my teeth a test run. I finally left the confines of my house on a quest to buy shoes. Thankfully, they didn't get in the way of me interacting with service personnel. However, I did feel a bit awkward every time I had to speak or smile. No one seemed to notice though, so maybe its all in my mind.
Needless to say, I've noticed two things in my mouth: 1. Apparently I bite my cheeks a lot with these in since there is a new set of creases on each inner cheek and 2. My tooth grinding may be causing this interesting pain every night.
I went to bed around 10:30 pm (that 4:30 am early rise for the gym is no joke) and was woken by the tooth pain at 2:00 am. It only occurs in one tooth and only over night. I'm not really sure what the deal is, but hopefully this ibuprofen does the trick.
I'll let you know...

Day ONE/TWO: Invisalign
By George!! They could have warned me! It would seem that after 9 years of braces (on at 7/off at 16) that I would get the hint that great teeth are awesome. However, somehow when you've worn braces that long the last thing you want in your mouth is a retainer. Now, 26 year old me has had some minor shifting that can be addressed in a matter of weeks with the help of (drum roll please) Invisalign!!
I was super excited about not having metal and only having to wear these clear plastic trays for 18 weeks, but nobody warned me about a couple of things.
Day One: I got my trays (1, 2, & 3 for 2 weeks of wear each)! The dental assistant fitted my upper tray and informed me that I needed buttons for my lower tray. Buttons?! Nobody said anything about buttons, but I'm invested so here goes. Come to find out, buttons are annoying ceramic mounds placed on certain teeth for grip and movement purposes, which really should read the bane of my existence!! So, I leave the dental office trays in place and lisp on deck! I sound a hot mess, which is to be expected.
I can't close my mouth and look as if my cheeks are so inflated. They never warned me about the buttons , and they most certainly didn't warn me about not being able to close my mouth. I figure that day one will be ok and I'll make it!
Day Two: I wake up to super sore teeth. Actually, they hurt so much that it woke me up. Granted, my metal braces of yesteryear hurt a lot worse, but I suspect I'll get over it. I spent my first full day at work trying to speak clearly on the phone. I still can't close my mouth and I should probably go on a liquid diet because chewing with these buttons make my skin crawl!! It's also such a hassle to pop the trays in and out (saliva flying everywhere) to eat or drink anything besides water. I did manage to eat a turkey sandwich, but it was the biggest task of the day. I gave up on chewing my salad for dinner because it was becoming way too complicated. I spend more time shifting my food around the BUTTONS (that nobody told me about) than I do actually eating! Nevertheless, I forge ahead into Day 3...even if I can't close my mouth!!
